Kieran McKenna is a landscape painter based in Berkshire known for his colourful and expressive depictions of the natural world. Subjects range from the mountains of the Bannau Brycheiniog to the rivers and peaks of Asturias in Northern Spain.
Working through a range of painting media, Kieran’s work explores themes of place and memory, through colour and markmaking. His personal memories in nature serve as the greatest inspiration for working subjects, and though largely depicting this connection with the natural world, an underlying theme of human connection drives the mood of each piece.
As an architecture student at Cardiff University his visual work has receieved praise from guest critics for its individuality and successful evocation of spatial experience and place.
His artwork has sold through private sales in the form of both commission and inquiry, as well as through gallery exhibition in Cardiff.

"Originally from Berkshire but currently residing in Cardiff painting the hills and valleys of South Wales, landscape artist Kieran McKenna explores the themes of places and memories in oils along with the expression of nature through colour and mark making. His recent paintings of the North Yorkshire Fells perfectly capture the brooding moods and subtle light of this ever-changing landscape"
Gary McMillan - Stonegate Gallery, Ingleton, North Yorkshire, 2023.
